Bendigo and District Aboriginal Co-operative aims to support elders and people with a disability who are living in the community.
We can assist clients in accessing the Home and Community Care (HACC) program and other beneficial services. Jointly funded by the Australian and Victorian governments, HACC provides services for frail older people, younger people with disabilities, and their carers.
The Aged Care Access and Support Worker provides information about the range of HACC packages available and eligibility assessments. They also assist clients in accessing other available services, and aim to empower clients and their carers and promote better practice in HACC service delivery.
Elders Planned Activity Group
BDAC’s Planned Activity Group helps HACC-eligible Aboriginal elders, people with disabilities, and their carers, stay connected to community, country and culture through social interaction, gatherings, cultural activities and craft days.
BDAC’s disability worker supports individuals seeking access to disability services. They also help individuals and their carers access disability assessments and register for the NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme) for access to individual support packages.
