We are seeking an individual who has strong clinical skills, and experience in working with young people and in working with multi-disciplinary teams.


Applicants must be eligible to provide Better Access funded services under Medicare. The purpose of the Better Access initiative is to improve treatment and management of mental illness within the community. The Better Access initiative is increasing community access to mental health professionals and team-based mental health care, with general practitioners encouraged to work more closely and collaboratively with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers and occupational therapists.

  • Part Time, 24hrs p/w Fixed Term (12 months)

Key Selection Criteria

  • Demonstrated understanding and commitment to Aboriginal health, Aboriginal culture, and the philosophy and practice of Aboriginal Community Control
  • Demonstrated ability to work with Aboriginal organisations and communities as well as mainstream organisations
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of primary health care service delivery and systems and how this relates to the Aboriginal community
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of health promotion/prevention and chronic care programs and how they relate to the Aboriginal community
  • Well-developed communication skills (written and oral)
  • Ability to use computers efficiently, including Microsoft based applications and PIRS programs
  • Demonstrated capacity to work as a member of a team, and able to lead and effectively manage organisational change
