History of BDAC BDAC was founded to represent and provide services to the Dja DjaWurrung community (Jaara people) and Aboriginal and Torres StraitIslander residents living in the Dja Dja Wurrung boundaries.BDAC has a responsibility to ensure growth of services anddevelopment of our Aboriginal community. BDAC aims to provide anexcellent health service and outcomes for our people, improve theservice quality of life and be a lead agency in providing employmentand career pathways for Aboriginal people.The Dja Dja Wurrung country includes the regional city of Bendigo,where 1,851 Aboriginal people live, and the surrounding districts ofBoort, Redesdale and Creswick. More than half of the Aboriginalpeople living in Bendigo are under the age of 24
